Blue Mondays

This morning I was sitting in the infusion waiting room bored out of my mind and freezing my butt off (I feel bad for these people, they are already suffering from cancer, they have to come to treatment and freeze their bottoms off to boot ) and I get this from http://www.facebook.com/SunshinesJourney
I am looking for 9-10 people who are not part of the challenge yet that would like to still join. Rather than adding to the teams, I would like to start a new team... let's see if a team full of rookies will give the other teams a run for their money! ;) Email me RIGHT AWAY if interested at sunshinesjourney@xxx.com Any emails I get after the deadline, I will respond back and get you on a team next week! ♥
I start at the message for a minute and think to myself and think, "Why not?" So I send her my current weight and tell her I would like to be apart of the team.. Not long after that she says "Welcome to Team Blue! Send a picture of yourself wearing blue or a sign....It's kissmet because I'm wearing blue today... I ask my mother if she could take a picture of me...and as you can see it's not the greatest picture, but mom isn't all that techno savvy and asking her to take a picture of me with my blackberry is like asking her to drive a car with her pinky toe.

So that was my day!

One of those days

I'm not sure if it was because it's Friday or because it's was a foggy and rainy day, but I was dog tired today.. After my morning obligations I returned home around 10:00am only to go back to bed and wake up at 4:00pm and I'm still tired. I know my body is not used to the new things that I am doing to it.. and maybe this is my body's way of telling me to knock it off....but I'm hard headed and I like to have things my way... so I'll contiune on this journey...

I got on the scale today... I decided that when I did this that my official weigh-in day would be Friday's. Let me say I wasn't expecting anything since I started this Monday and had lots of yummy BBQ to celebrate the end of summer...So this mornign I get on the scale with my smug know-it-all attitude and low and behold... 4 pounds... I LOST 4 pounds!! That was the best way to start the day.

This weekend I'll be heading to Milwaukee for  Froederts & The Medical College of Wisconsin's 12th Annual Transplant Picnic. I'm excited to see my team, and hear doctors speak about transplant related issues, and all the great SWAG I get... did I mention the event is catered my Saz's... my mouth is watering already.. I'm sure my bestie will want to do something active, the last time I was in Milwaukee, She made we walk through the grocery store for fours hours then made me cook her dinner, I'm hoping she'll be gentler on me this time around.
Clearly I over did it on the fats today... gotta work on that

I found my self saying this a lot this week, and this might be my daily weight loss mantra. RECOGNIZE, REGROUP, and REDO. Every day's not going to be a good day, there will be days when I will slip up, but everyday is a change to change and start over again.... until next Monday.....

RECOGNIZE, REGROUP... and REDO!

"Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another." - Vince Lombardi

It's that time of year again Ladies and Gents! Football is back!! Which brings me to my next deliema... football food... chips, bean dip, cheese dip, spinach dips, cheese, brats, hot wings, just typing it makes me mouth water.. it's too much...

So how does one avoid temptation at all the football parties (and Super Bowl parties)?? I don't want to sit around chomping on crudities platter.. drinking water and feeling miserable when all my peers are enjoying them selves and all the good food... I need to think of alternatives...maybe there is a go-to-dish that I can make that's low cal and low fat that I can take to parties...

And the About.com came and saved the day. Low Cal/Low Fat Superbowl Recipes SCORE!

So in the name of accountability and all that.. YADA... YADA... YADA... Here are my nutritional values for the day.

Now let's spotlight what I have for lunch... McDonald's...now let me tell you why I had McDonald's... this morning, even before I started my day, I  was feeling crabby and awful... not even the yummy cranberry pomegranate green tea I was drinking could help me. I said to myself, "I need some unhealthy grease in my body".... seriously those actual words left my body today....who says that?

NUTRIENTS:   GOAL

  TODAY
Calories:  1,420 - 1,770

 1,984
Fat:  37 - 65

 81
Carbohydrates: 188 - 271

233
Protein:                  60 - 146

91

So the medium Sprite, medium fries and an Angus third pounder (which I didn't even eat all of it) came in at a whopping 1,410 calories. What the FCUK??!!!  It has really made me think about the decisions I'm making and what I'm putting in my mouth . But like I tell everyone else.. RECOGNIZE, REGROUP... and REDO! Tomorrow is another day... and I can do better.

Why yes , I'm a dirty girl...thank you for asking!

So the offer was presented to me to do a dirty girl competition....first thought... A stripping or a pole dancing  competition...SCORE! I got this sucker in the bag.... imagine my shock when I went to the website and realize they want me to do an obstacle course in the mud...

HOLD UP! Tyra only does mud that comes for a spa. You know the kind of mud that comes from Iceland and has been pre-cleaned...

But I'm looking forward to it (my hair, face, and girly bits may think differently...so this time next year I will officially be a dirty girl!!

Just a little inspiration....maybe even a theme song

My get up and go song...daily morning motivation

One of the pledges that I made on SparksPeople is that I would listen to a get up and good song once a day! Today (and most likely permanent) get up and go song is "Rise n Grind" by Donnie Wahlberg (who else...lol).
